OTHM Level 6 Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety
Overview:
The OTHM Level 6 Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety is designed for professionals who are working in — or aiming to move into — senior health and safety roles within an organisation.
This qualification equips learners with the knowledge and practical skills required to manage occupational health and safety policies, ensure legal compliance, and lead safety improvements in the workplace.
Upon successful completion, learners will understand legal and regulatory requirements, evaluate safety policies, provide professional advice, and implement effective safety management strategies.

Entry Requirements:
To enroll in the Level 6 Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, learners should have:
A diploma or recognised qualification covering fundamental Occupational Health & Safety concepts

British Safety Council Level 3 Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health
British Safety Council International Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health
NEBOSH International General Certificate
NCFE IOSH Level 3 Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health
NCRQ Level 6 Certificate in Applied Health and Safety
Age Requirement:
Minimum age: 18 years
Mature learners (21+) with at least 2 years relevant experience are also eligible
Qualification Equivalency:
The OTHM Level 6 qualification is equivalent to:

The Level 6 Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety consists of 7 mandatory units for a combined total of 60 credits for the completed qualification.

- Health and Safety Management Principles and Policy (8 credits)
- Health and Safety Management Practice (10 credits)
- Risk and Incident Management (8 credits)
- Promoting a Positive Health and Safety Culture (6 credits)
- Maintaining a Safe Workplace Environment (12 credits)
- Health and Safety Law, Regulation and Influence (8 credits)
- Development of the Health and Safety Practitioner (8 credits)
Assessment & Verification:
All units are internally assessed by the centre
Externally verified by OTHM
Assessment is based on achieving specific learning outcomes
Learners must provide evidence demonstrating they have met all assessment criteria to achieve a Pass.
Career & Progression:

Apply for Graduate Membership of IOSH
Complete Initial Professional Development (IPD)
Attend a professional review interview.
Progress toward Chartered Membership (CMIOSH)
